About learn in color
Live in Color is a space dedicated to celebrating every child’s uniqueness and shining a light on the importance of inclusion in education. Our mission is to bring awareness to issues of race, gender, and identity in the classroom, while inspiring educators and families to create environments where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered. We believe that true learning happens when children can show up as their full selves, and when we, as a community, embrace radical awareness, empathy, and action to make that possible.
Our focus areas
We are showing and explaining the five lenses of diversity so it can help others understand that every child is unique and an be shaped by different aspects of their identity, like culture, gender, ability, family, and background. By exploring these lenses, we're promoting awareness, empathy, and inclusion so that all children feel seen, respected, and valued in their learning environment.
Race/Ethnicity
Helps children appreciate different backgrounds, avoid stereotypes, and build cultural awareness.
Gender Identity
Supports self-expression and respect for others’ identities; challenges gender stereotypes early on.
Ability and Disability
Promotes empathy and inclusion for children with disabilities or developmental differences.
Family Structure
Affirms children whose families don’t fit the “traditional” mold (single-parent, grandparent-led, same-gender parents, foster, adoptive, etc.).
Socioeconomic Status
Encourages empathy, gratitude, and understanding that not everyone has the same material circumstances.
Our story
Learn In Color began as a personal project with a simple goal: to make high-quality education accessible to everyone. Based in Temecula, California, we're passionate about sharing knowledge and empowering individuals to achieve their dreams through learning.
